It is incredible that the party of slavery, segregation and that instigated the Civil War has been continually permitted to set the premise and agenda of what gets discussed politically. The art of not accepting the premise of an issue has yet to be learned by the Republican party and many conservatives. Not accepting bad premises, pivoting the conversation back to solid ideals are skills needed in all future political leaders.
