This quote comes from just after the election of Ron DeSantis (2018) as part of a discussion about Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida. The behavior pattern of claiming Republican victories as fraudulent began with the 2000 election, and has been omnipresent since, yet when Republicans raise any issue at all it is they who are labelled as ‘election deniers’. The 2020 election and 2022 midterms have shown clear examples of election results that require clear explanation and investigation instead of dismissal of concerns coupled with name calling.
