Quote of the day April 15th, 2023
"What got us out of the depression was World War II. The New Deal didn't, the New Deal exacerbated the depression." - Rush
Children in grade school are taught that the New Deal ended the Great Depression (If they are taught any history at all), it is only in some institutions of higher education that the Great Depression is examined critically. It could be argued that any time our Constitution has been circumvented it has led to economic or social strife. The New Deal re-wrote the rules of our government for all time, unmooring government from its Constitutional guideposts.
It should be noted that this quote comes from one of the rare fourth hours that Rush decided to do from time to time, when he felt that he had more to say on current events.

That is definitely true. The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes is a good book covering just how terrible FDR was for the economy.
